Idea: When Getting out of the Subway

Getting Out of the Subway
Posted 2008-01-16
When I get out of a subway, I get turned around and sometimes have no idea which direction I am going. Tonight I started walking East, when I wanted to walk West. The fact is that I have a terrible sense of direction, but I am not the only one who has this problem, particularly getting off a subway. I see residents and tourists alike trying to figure out their way when getting out of the stations.

I think that painted on the ground at the exit to every subway, or mounted somewhere should be a compass with indication on which way is North/South/East/West so people can get their bearings. This is a simple solution to a nagging problem.
