What happened to the beloved Quaalude?

I haven’t done drugs since 2002.

But I would take Quaaludes again if they came back.  Definitely.  There was something so relaxing about the Lemmon and Rorer 714 pills.  And I couldn’t understand why they completely disappeared and you can’t even find bootlegs.

I think I found out why.  Quaaludes were put on the Schedule I list of illicit drugs by the DEA which put it up there with Heroin and Marijuana (Yes, this is on that list too).

I don’t get it.  The one drug which made people happy, relaxed and to the best of my knowledge was non-addictive, non-narcotic and nobody died from an overdose is gone.

They defined my era.   And I wish they were around still.
